Absolutely my favorite place to eat in Fort Wayne. Good people, great food.

This place is great for some Thai food. It has a small dining area. Service is good. I usually order the duck curry and it's delicious! Although I wish there was more meat to it. It is $12 for the entree which is a little pricey. Do not order the pad Thai... It's not good at all. It's watery, and very sweet. Overall, great Thai food in Fort Wayne.

I had their chicken basil. It was among the best I've had. The service was the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars. It was good, but could have been a bit more attentive. I would definitely return!!

When I'm on the road traveling for work and find myself somewhere where the options for dining don't go very far beyond Applebee's and the Outback, I tend to seek out ethnic food. More often than not, it's a place run by immigrants from the region where the type of food they are preparing originated. That's the case here. The chef is from Thailand, and having been to Thailand myself I can say that the food is authentic as well as tasty. Grab a pud kee mow and a Chiang!

I was visiting Fort Wayne for business. I decided to stop in and try the food. I ordered a iced Thai coffee, chicken lemongrass soup, and pad Thai. The hostess was friendly and my wait was short. Everything was great. This is the best Thai food I had so far in Indiana!!! I will definitely stop in again when I am in town.

Everything tastes the same here. My sister, nieces, and I each ordered different things Every dish we ordered, from shrimp to chicken, noodles to rice, had the same overpowering flavor, they all tasted like the had the exact same flavored sauce. I asked the waitress if their hot tea was black tea or green tea and the response was, "Oh, it is kind of a yellowish orange color." We were not impressed. I doubt we will go back.

First let's start by saying that maybe I had high hopes for this place because I had wanted to try it for over a year. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday and that when I was usually free to have dinners out at a restaurant. The good...well the good is good. Service is not what you would call friendly, but it is prompt. I guess my negative is that this place is really expensive, and I'm not sure why. Secondly the portions are kind of small especially since you will be paying $11-$14 per dinner. I left here feeling unsatisfied but I'm not sure why. Everything was ok, but I guess I was hoping for great. Maybe I hyped it up in my head, wanting it to be better than what it is...which is good but not great.

Firstly, coming from India and having an option in Fort Wayne where I can get a chance to eat indian food, I'd rather spend more money and time in visiting this AMAZING place for Thai Food! Best Thai food in Fort Wayne. You live here? Eat here... (Btw, I live in Warsaw) You visiting? Stop by and eat! You'll love this place. Service is good, waitresses are courteous, food is just amazing and the ambience is maintained really well. Just a perfect place for friends, family or a group for great food! BAN THAI! The best Thai food in Fort Wayne!

Solid Thai! Had the Green Curry with Chicken at a "full on 4 heat level" and it was very good. The heat is just enough to draw some brow sweat, but not unbearable. It's quite flavorful and the coconut cuts the heat well. Chang beer is pretty good. Helped to knock the heat down. The Satays are just okay. They are served grilled, but I like when Thai places bring the little grill to the table. They didn't. Basic, but still good. I will definitely be back.

The BEST thai cuisine in Fort Wayne. Great flavors and a super friendly staff. My favorite is the Pad Thai with chicken but don't forget to try the curries, which are also super good.

Very nice atmosphere. Good service. Even though the place was full our food came in a prompt manner. It was quite tasty but just not nearly as good as the Thai Diner on Illinois Road. So glad that's the side of town we live on. DH had sweet and sour which he enjoyed. My red curry was full of bamboo shoots above all. I had it with beef and eggplant which were acceptable. The heat was not as hot as expected (or preferred) but the flavor was okay. I would eat here again if we happened to be on this side of town.

I love this place. The ladies who work there keep things running smoothly and humming along. They're courteous and attentive. Decor is modest, and the atmosphere is never offensive. The food is quite good. I'm less keen on their green curry, but all the rest of their dishes are good at worst. They use a lot of onions and broccoli for their veggies, but for the most part the veggies are not overcooked. I suggest getting a mild or medium (if you really want a good spice kick) spice level for your dish at first. I doubt that there are many people around here that enjoy much more spice. I've taken co-workers here, and to their manly taste-buds they still start to steam over medium spice. As far as I know, you can't get free refills on their thai iced tea, but you can on most of the other beverages. Try an appetizer; they're all tasty. When mangos are in season, it's a treat to get mango and sticky rice as a desert. If you've never had thai food, this is a good place to start. Most dishes are so different from each other that if you don't like one dish, there's still a slew of other very different flavors to try.

The atmosphere was nice, but the food was just okay-ish. Pineapple fried rice was pretty good. The lad na was terrible -- just a bowl of sauce with some noodles and veggies floating around. Definitely not lad na noodles... more like thin egg noodles. I was really disappointed. $30 for those two dishes, decent egg rolls, & one Thai iced tea.

Baan Thai is one of my favorite places to eat in Fort Wayne. Before moving here permanently, my boyfriend had to visit Fort Wayne often for work, and this was the one place he always wanted to go eat. He thoroughly enjoys the spicy fried rice and honestly refuses to order anything else "because it's so good". I, however, have ordered lots of other things on there menu - both dine-in and take-out - and have always been so happy with what I'm given. I always order a hot tea if we're dining in, especially if it's cold out - it's served in a beautiful tea pot with a tiny tea cup and I'm able to savor the pot-ful throughout my entire meal. I've asked the women before what kind of tea it is and they just say "herbal" so I'm not sure if it's something you can pick up in the store or if it's their own specialty tea - I highly recommend it for tea-lovers out there. It's not bitter or potent or biting - very mellow, midly fragrant and just very comforting! When it comes to appetizers, I've had the Dumplings, Chicken Satay, Egg Rolls, Fried Wonton - all were very good, but I really loved the Satay the most. I've had their Tom Yum Goong soup (which is a favorite soup of mine at any Thai restaurant) and it is delicious. When it comes to entrees, you can't go wrong with the green curry (gang keaw waan) but I also love the Pud Kra Prow (BASIL). As far as the atmosphere goes - do not let the fact that it's in the corner of the strip mall deter you - once you get inside, you're in this adorable, dim-lit restaurant that is always clean and has a nice decor. The servers are always wonderfully sweet and accommodating, and in the maybe five times I've eaten there (and probably 25+ times my boyfriend has) we have never once had even a slight issue with anyone, our order, service, cleanliness, etc. Highly recommend! Love it love it love it!
This place was a little disappointing and not deserving of the four star rating. We ordered the curry puffs for appetizer which was the only dish that I liked. We also ordered the salad with squid, green curry with chicken, and a seafood noodle dish. Squid salad was just ok. The green curry was very watery and only consisted of chicken and cucumber. Felt like a rip off. The seafood noodles had a few pieces of imitation crab, shrimp, and squid floating around in a brown sauce. Just not very impressed overall.

I'm pretty sure that when I was in high school, this was a make-your-own stir fry sort of place, but 15 years later (dear god I'm old) it's definitely a delicious Thai restaurant, shoved into the corner of a nondescript strip mall. We were seated promptly and given water and menus. The atmosphere is somewhat dim, nicely decorated, doesn't feel too strip-mall-y. I ordered ginger tofu, my mom ordered curry, and my friend, a Thai food newbie, went with my pad Thai recommendation. The food was served, as anticipated, on large platters suitable for sharing. Instead of receiving individual portions or a common bowl of rice, we were offered rice from a large serving dish the waitstaff had. I assume we could have asked for more if desired, but it was an unusual method for me. Everything was well seasoned (mom's curry had some nice creep-up-on-you heat to it) and served piping hot. We were checked back in on frequently and given refills. I would like to be able to try more of the menu, so I hope the next time I'm in Fort Wayne this is still a Thai restaurant and hasn't reverted back to stir-fry. :)

What has happen to Baan Thai? I moved away for a short while and have since returned to the area and had a huge craving for Baan. What a mistake. I went in for take out yesteday and was so disappointed. First they raised thier prices from exspensive to now way too expensive for the quality and qaunity of the portions they are putting out. Then to my huge dissapointment they forgot my Tom Yum Gha soup which really sucked because iam a huge fan of that soup. They normally never forget any previous orders I have made. I guess I have to start checking the bag now. I ordered the Crispy duck which when i opened it up it was laying in a pool of nasty grease and oil and it had only three pieces of fatty barely edible duck meat. Suffice it to say my relationship with Baan has been disolved and will have to look elsewhere for good thai food. Memo to the owners get back to the basics of fresh thai cooking.

My sis took me here recently. So good! We both had veggie pad thai, and the tofu is very yummy. They don't mess around with wimpy spices. We asked for two stars, and we got some fairly spicy food. The hot tea is also very good. I hope to come here again the next time I'm visiting my family.

Excellent dining service and staff and we have always enjoyed the meal. The menu has all the expected Thai options and the server will give as much rice as you can handle. My hubbins and I have tried several different things each, and we have never been disappointed in anything we've gotten there. Personal recommendations would be Pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai, or Lad Nah Taley, and though I'm not the biggest fan of curry, even I find myself stealing bites from my husbands plate. I only wish this place were slightly closer to us here in Warsaw.

I really enjoy going here, the food is really good and people are always awesome. I had my favorite Tom Kah Gai which is excellent. I am thankful that they can bring the heat in there foods and doesn't get "Americanized"..watered down.. When my wife comes I will always recommend Baan Thai..

Excellent, friendly and quick. The best Thai food I've ever had. Still trying to find something comparable in Indy. Try the pineapple fried rice.

Overall good but a little disappointing. To start the service was excellent, all the dishes had great flavor - right amount of spicy, and the coconut soup is excellent. I had Pud Kee Mow (N. 3) a spicy rice noodle dish with basil, tomatoes, bell peppers, egg, and meat of your choice (I picked chicken). I added onions - delicious! So why only 3 stars?? Because I literally had 3 pieces of chicken in my dish, total rip off! I seriously got tried of noshing on noodles, peppers, onions, and fried egg. Cmon!

So excited that I got to eat my favorite Thai food while I was in town. It seems the last few times I've been here I haven't been able to come. Finally last night we went! The Tom Yum soup pot is fun for a group to enjoy, and probably the best Tom Yum I've had. Plentiful with ingredients and bursting with flavor. I recommend it highly! The three of us had Garlic Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and Spicy Noodles with chicken...can't remember the actual name. The Garlic chicken is a must if trying them as well as the pad thai....but lately I've been swaying more toward the spicy noodles and this was my first time having it here. It too did not disappoint! Very good! Plenty of rice as they continually come around with the big silver rice bowl to refill. The Thai Iced Tea's are delicious too, and if you want dessert ask for the sticky rice with mango....oh it's so good!! The owner always remembers you and your order and even after 4 years of being absent she still remembered me!! Happy camper here!!

Great Curry! My husband got the Mango red curry and I got the green. He preferred his and I preferred mine, so it worked out great for both of us. I got more of their yummy green curry with perfect heat when I asked for medium. Its always a plus when Thai places put a 1-5 heat scale. The mango chunks in the red curry were huge with plenty to fill the appetite. I suggest you ask for a lot of rice when you get the meal. We started off with a little thinking they would come back for more, but they never offered. They might give more, but we didn't know the protocol and didn't want to be annoying. Another thing, was that their curry sauces were on the watery side, which I enjoyed. Makes it so it doesn't sit in your stomach as heavy. I'm use to more thick curry sauces. The portion sizes were good, but don't look for leftovers. Great place, definitely coming back when I get my curry itch.

Far and away one of my all time favorite eats! I have been to a few Thai restaurants but this is the best in my book. You are usually greeted by the sweetest lady and promptly notice how it's busier than you thought it would be. There is a reason for which you are about find out! I have sampled many dishes which have all been good but for a novice, might I suggest the Pad Thai. It's what I recommend to friends I take in. You can get it with chicken, beef or tofu. Other favorites of mine include Pud Kee Mow and any of the fried rice dishes. Last tip, don't forget to try the Thai Iced tea, it's a sweet tea to die for.

Delicious! Wonderful curry dishes and a quaint atmosphere. I see some of the other reviews are beating them up over this and that. I realize it's not the truest Thai out there, but it serves the purpose when you're craving a curry dish. The duck was one of my favorites. Prices are reasonable.

Renee G.
The best thing about Baan Thai is that they will give you the actual heat scales that you request. Not all Thai restaurants will do this, so be careful if you order a five on the heat scale because you just might get it, so you better be able to handle it. Their Thai iced tea and coffee are delicious.

Excellent Thai, I love all their curries. Try the curry puffs or pineapple rice too. The wait staff keep your water filled, which is good because you can get spicy, spicy if ou dare. They also have mild dishes and great prices. You might call ahead though, sometimes the owners close when they go back to visit Thailand, I wanna cry when I pull up and they are closed. The atmosphere is quiet and perfect for a conversation or meeting. Their lunches are great and quick too. Love this place.

Simply delicious but never would've found it in the back corner of a strip mall. Mainly sustained by those in the know - and with good reason. You'll be hard pressed to find better Thai in the greater tricounty area.

Delicious food here. We will definitely return. It is small but not cramped, though we did go when it was very slow. Nice atmosphere and heavily decorated with cultural decor. I ordered the Pud Broccoli and a tofu clear soup. The soup was very impressive and had a great broth with a fresh taste of cilantro. The main dish was served with large, tender pieces of perfectly cooked broccoli, smaller pieces of chicken, a wonderful salty brown sauce with a large portion of rice. I would order it again if I didnt want to try something else! The service was also friendly and perfectly timed. Prices unbeatable. Great visit!

Really great and authentic food. I like the yellow curry. There is some seafood soup I really like there that could be shared with like up to 4 ppl. It comes out in a pot thing. The dishes would be better served in a bigger portion. My older brother loves to go here and he's good friends with the chef.

Ordered green curry chicken to go, medium heat, took it home and could see how much red pepper flake they put into it, I thought to myself whatever I ordered it medium. Upon my first taste I immediately realized how hot it was I could not taste anything other than heat no flavor just heat it was very soupy as well not what I was expecting chicken was shredded and hard-to-find I will not order again.

This is our Thai place in FW, not that there's much choice. The pad thai is passable and the pud see yew is good. The tum yum soup has a really food soup base, and the spicy version is on fire. We like the beef salad and seafood salad. We also like the Thai ice tea and anything stir-fried with basil (try the squid). Portions could be larger--- but generally you get good value. Service is great. The mango with sweet rice dessert looks odd, but is heavenly.

Best Thai in town! Love how you basically get to customize your own meal by choosing your spiciness level (or not) and your meat or seafood. Big portions and good service. Even if you don't like spicy food, try them. Just about any dish can be made not spicy. All Thai food is hot seems to be the most common misconception people have. Not true!

I have been to Baan Thai restaurant twice so far and have tried the Tilapia special both times. Although it had different curries both times, both versions tasted excellent. Their iced tea is also good. They serve mild to spicy grades. I got the spicy grade and it was awesome. Staff is courteous and lunches are quick.

Baan Thai is my favorite overall, most-visited restaurant in Fort Wayne. I have never had a disappointing meal there, and it is my top place to share when asked for a dining recommendation. Overarching items of awesomeness: -Very friendly servers who dress in beautiful traditional garb; -Nice décor that helps one forget the strip-mall local; -Perfect Thai iced tea, not overly sweet from too much condensed milk; -Red curry tofu, w. eggplant, bamboo shoots & basil; -Duck Basil; -Refreshing squid salad, with lime & chili paste dressing; -Tamarind (?) candies w. your check; -Thai extra-hot everything! I was a former curry obsessive, battling with a sibling over the superiority of green vs. red vs. panang curries, but have recently gotten into the stir-fry dishes, especially the Pad Kra Prow which comes with a delicious basil spicy sauce. There are so many wonderful, unique dishes to try out; don't be a sucker by wimping out with Pad Thai or fried rice. Baan Thai is authentic as you'll get in the area; just don't set your authenticity expectations too high...you are in Ft. Wayne, for pete's sake. Watch out during the summer when the restaurant typically closes for a month, while the owners visit relatives abroad; it's the saddest time of the year. For newbies, visiting during lunch may be the best option, where a small egg roll and bowl of lemongrass-sour broth accompanies your meal for free. Thai is my favorite ethnic cuisine, and I try to visit each new Thai addition to the Ft. Wayne dining scene...nothing has ever trumped Baan Thai.

This place is closed from July 9th-31st. I was hoping to try it during our visit to Indiana. Maybe next time.

Best Thai in Fort Wayne.

Excellent Thai food! Pad Thai, the special, soups, salad, Chang beer... We loved it! We were passing thru Fort Wayne and we are glad we sought this place out. Friendly wait staff too! Yummy!!!

This restaurant can compete with even the best Thai restaurants in big cities. Consistently high-quality flavors. Their soups and curries are outstanding. An extremely vegetarian friendly place.

Don't think, just go there. If you like thai food you'll love this place.

Best Thai meal around. I have not one ban thing to say, except that they are not open 24/7! Great service, fabulous food fair price. Perfection.
(5)Alex W.

This restaurant is clean, with nice atmosphere. They serve decent Thai food, but there isn't much competition in Ft. Wayne.

I love this place! Great food and excellent service! Try the vegetarian pud thai or pud kee mow. Yummy!
(5)Danielle P.
